The story
In every village, there is a place people respect from a distance — one they pass in hushed silence. It is in this forest that final goodbyes take place. In Buddhist tradition, cremation is not an end — it is a liberation. The fire purifies, releasing the spirit from the body so it may continue its journey. But the ritual does not stop there. After the cremation, tradition calls for a period of waiting: three days for women, four for men. Then the family returns to gather what remains, and carries it to the village temple — so the spirit may finally find its home. This place is not meant to be feared.
