📖The story

This village is home to the Gnay ethnic minority, who maintain strong traditional beliefs and cultural practices passed down through generations. Each year, usually around March, an important ceremony takes place to honor the spirits of the ancestors and ask for protection and harmony for the village. During this ritual, buffalo and cow sacrifice offerings are made and prayers are shared with the spiritual world. A traditional symbolic practice is performed involving livestock above the spirit house. According to belief, if the offering is received in the intended way, it is a positive sign that the spirits will support the village; if not, it is a sign to be more careful in the coming year. The ceremony is both a cultural gathering and a moment of unity for the entire community.
